About this event

On Thursday, February 23 the Richmond Federal Reserve is hosting this year’s first installment of their District Dialogues public discussion series. The theme is the Highs and the Lows of the Housing Market.

Whether you’re a realtor, potential home buyer, loan officer, renter, property investor or local business leader, you’ll walk away with a better understanding of recent housing market trends and what they mean for the broader economy. During the session, you will hear from leading industry experts on:

      • Why housing costs rose dramatically during the pandemic
      • Why affordable housing is so difficult to find
      • What rising interest rates mean for both buyers and renters
      • How today’s trends influence people’s decisions about where to live

District Dialogues is a moderated discussion with some of the leading experts in the industry, along with Bank economists, who’ll share the impact of the current trends on the broader economy.
